HYNDBURN GROUP POLICIES

It would be appreciated if you could read the following notes thoroughly as they ARE relevant and apply to all. Thank-you.

1) The car park is situated at the junction of Plantation Street and the dual carriageway, Eastgate, in Accrington. If approaching from Whalley Road / Burnley Road direction, proceed to the end of Eastgate and turn left at the traffic lights into Plantation Street. The entrance to the Car Park is immediately on your left. If approaching from Manchester Road direction , you will pass the Fire & Police stations on your left, then " The James Hargreaves" and the "Swan" public houses on your right. At the traffic lights ahead, turn right into Plantation Street. The entrance to the Car Park is immediately on your left.
2) Would all walkers please go to Plantation Street ONLY and NOT to the destination as walks may be subject to alteration. If you go direct to the destination then you do so AT YOUR OWN RISK.
*If N/A is in the column for Plantation Street time then meeting point IS at time and place described in details column of programme.
If any alteration needs to be made then the Leader will inform you on the day. The destination distance and walk distance will be equal to, or less than, what is stated on the Walks Programme.
3) Those without cars may meet at Plantation Street and will probably be offered a lift if places are available. It would be appreciated if such passengers would contribute towards the fuel expenses of the driver using the formula of 20p per mile on the OUTWARD journey (£2.00 minimum) and also have a change of footwear available for both legs of the journey. Any Car Parking charges are to be shared between the occupants of each car.
4) Please note that this Walks Programme is compiled for the benefit of Ramblers Members. Non-members are most welcome to attend a few walks on trial basis, but are then expected to join The Ramblers. Information / membership leaflets are available from the Walks Co-ordinator.
5) Informal Wednesday Walks take place each week throughout the year starting from Plantation Street Car Park at 9.30am. Destination, distance and the leader are decided on the day. Please remember that for insurance purposes leaders of Wednesday Walks must be paid up members of the Ramblers. (All these notes apply on these walks as well)
6) Children under 16 are welcome on all Hyndburn Group walks but MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult. Please do ensure children are correctly dressed and equipped if bringing them on a walk. The Walk Leader reserves the right to refuse to take children if it is deemed to be an unsuitable walk for them.
7) Dogs are welcome but MUST be kept on a lead under close control AT ALL TIMES.
***THIS IS A GROUP POLICY THAT MUST BE ADHERED TO***
8) Group Committee Meetings appear on the Programme to enable ( or encourage ) you to come along if you have any questions / comments for the Committee. All meetings take place at The Greyhound Inn, Whalley Road, Accrington except for the AGM which is in the Town Hall, Accrington.
9) PLEASE do not contact the Walks Co-ordinator for additional information about specific walks, ALL known details are on the Programme.
10) Please observe the Country Code at all times.
