Hyndburn Group will be holding it's 2005 Annual General Meeting on Monday the 21st of November at Accrington Town Hall in the Conference Room. Proceedings to start at 7.30pm prompt. All Welcome.

New Archive Section added. To start with there are four sections with one item in each section but it is hoped these will increase in time.

I have now fully typed up the 2006 Walks Programme and it has now gone online. I have also added a walk programme archive for 2004 and 2005 programmes. I may, in time, work back through a few more years.
Thanks to all those who volunteered to lead walks for next year.

Further to the item on the 26th we are now linked in to a total of six webrings. These are as follows:
- North West England Webring
- Pennine Webring
- Ramblers' WebRing
- The Lancashire Webring
- UK Walking Webring
- Walkers and Hikers WebRing
If anybody comes across another suitable Webring that the site could be part of then please E-Mail

You may have noticed from the Homepage that the site now registered on the Ramblers Webring. This is the third Webring we have joined and like the news item on 08th February there is only one Webring design visible on the page. Whichever design you see is dependant on whichever ring you linked from or visited last.

Just a brief reminder that the Leader's meeting for 2006 is to be held on Monday the 19th of September at Lock Street, Oswaldtwistle. If you can't attend and would like to lead please let me have your walks details, laid out as the walk programme, by the 9th AT THE LATEST. I have to collate all walks received up to then and need the time.

I have been trying to get a Forum up and running for the Group and at present it is in it's infancy. It is currently located HERE but it is hoped that it will be hosted through the Hyndburn website in the near future. You need to register in order to post on the Forum but you can choose any username for anonymity. In the meantime please feel free to use the Forum and start any new topics you wish. Enjoy!

Please go to the new and improved Young Person's Group webpages. I have agreed to temporarily host these on our site until the new group gets on it's feet. Please do pass the word around about this Group to any relatives or friends aged from 20 to 40 inclusive. All welcome!!

Due to an oversight I have been forced to cancel my Lake District walk this coming Sunday, the 21st. I apologise for the lateness of this notice and the walk will be on next years programme for those who were looking forward to it.

Due to upgrading my computer I haven't really been able to add things here but hopefully service will now be resumed as usual. There will be two or three new reports coming up soon. PLUS - check out the update on the YPG page.

There was another successful meeting of Groups on Sunday the 17th of April between our own Hyndburn Group and Preston Group. The Walk Report for this has been added.
The next joint walk is in September, consult the Programme for details.

The Train Ramble that was due to take place on Saturday the 26th unfortunately did not take place as was intended. When originally put on the Walks Programme the train left at 9.40am but after a different operator took over the running of this line the time changed to 9.20am. David Hill who was leading on the day had to make a decision as to where to take the Group and settled for a walk in the Foulridge area. Apologies to anyone who missed out on the walk as a result of this but it was out of our hands.

David Hill will now be leading the Trian Ramble on Easter Saturday instead of Phil Bedson. All other details remain the same.

A flaw in the way the online programme was displayed was responsible for a prospective new member not being able to join a recent walk. Hopefully this has now been corrected but if anybody else encounters any 'vagueness' in the way information is put across on the website PLEASE CONTACT ME.

As most of you will have noticed on the Index page, this site is now part of the Walkers and Hikers webring. This provides an easy way of linking to lots of sites with a similar theme to our own and will also help in making Hyndburn Ramblers even more well known!

Notification is made that as of January 1st 2005 Pauline Hughes is the new Membership Secretary after election at the December 2004 Committee Meeting.

There have been a number of amendments and additions to the programme of walks. These are listed below.
- The walk on the 20th of February will now be led by Sue Baxendale. All details remain the same.
- The walks on both the 10th of April and the 16th of October will now be led by Trevor Whittaker. Both being twelve miles in length they are Sutton-in-Craven for Wainstone's Pinnacle and Mytholmroyd for Crag Vale respectively. Start times remain the same.
- The walk by Phil Bedson on July 24th should read 8.00am at Plantation Street
- Four walks have been added by Paul Gott. The details are as follows:
- 27th April / 9.30 / Decide on the day / 10
- 22nd May / 9.30 / Rivington / 10
- 9th October / 9.30 / Huncoat Trail / 10
- 18th December / 9.30 / Decide on the Day / 10
